Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES12 host has a package installed that is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE- SU-2026:3159-1 advisory.

 This update for wpa_supplicant fixes the following issue:

 - CVE-2025-24912: hostapd RADIUS authentication of wi-fi devices allows a user in between the hostapd and the RADIUS server to inject crafted RADIUS packets and force RADIUS authentications to fail (bsc#1239461).

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected wpa_supplicant package.
