Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to c-ares.

Description

The version of c-ares installed on the remote host is prior to 1.34.7. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2026-187-01 advisory.

New c-ares packages are available for Slackware 15.0 and -current to fix security issues.

Solution

Upgrade the affected c-ares package.
