MongoDB 8.3.x < 8.3.3 Information Disclosure

medium Nessus Plugin ID 320794

Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of MongoDB installed on the remote host is 8.3.x prior to 8.3.3. It is, therefore, affected by an information disclosure vulnerability:

- MongoDB server may log authentication parameters, including credentials, to the server log during SASL authentication. When connection health metric logging is enabled, the full authentication parameters are written to the log without redaction. (CVE-2026-9735)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MongoDB version 8.3.3 or later.
