Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to net-tools.

Description

The version of net-tools installed on the remote host is prior to 20181103_0eebece. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2026-154-02 advisory.

 New net-tools packages are available for Slackware 15.0 and -current to fix a security issue.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the net-tools security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected net-tools package.
