Synopsis

The remote host is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability.

Description

The version of MantisBT installed on the remote host is 2.28.0. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability:

 - A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists in the tag deletion confirmation page (tag_delete.php) due to improper escaping of the tag name when displaying the confirmation message. An attacker can inject HTML and, if CSP settings permit, achieve execution of arbitrary JavaScript. (CVE-2026-33517)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MantisBT version 2.28.1 or later.
