Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE- SU-2026:0583-1 advisory.

 - CVE-2026-25646: heap buffer overflow vulnerability in png_set_dither/png_set_quantize (bsc#1258020).

Solution

Update the affected libpng16-16, libpng16-16-32bit, libpng16-compat-devel and / or libpng16-devel packages.
