medium Nessus Plugin ID 298978

Synopsis

The remote host is missing a security update.

Description

The version of MongoDB installed on the remote host is 8.0 prior to 8.0.18 and 8.2 prior to 8.2.4. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SERVER-114126 advisory.

- Complex queries can cause excessive memory usage in MongoDB Query Planner resulting in an Out-Of-Memory Crash.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MongoDB version 8.0.18, 8.2.4 or later.
