Synopsis

The remote database server is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The version of MariaDB installed on the remote host is prior to 10.6.24. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 10.6.24 advisory.

- Vulnerability in the MySQL Server product of Oracle MySQL (component: Server: Optimizer). Supported versions that are affected are 8.0.0-8.0.44, 8.4.0-8.4.7 and 9.0.0-9.5.0. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows low privileged attacker with network access via multiple protocols to compromise MySQL Server.
Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized ability to cause a hang or frequently repeatable crash (complete DOS) of MySQL Server. (CVE-2026-21968)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to MariaDB version 10.6.24 or later.
