Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to bind.

Description

The version of bind installed on the remote host is prior to 9.18.44 / 9.20.18. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2026-021-01 advisory.

 New bind packages are available for Slackware 15.0 and -current to fix security issues.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the bind security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected bind package.
