Synopsis

The remote FreeBSD host is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FreeBSD installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the ff20d3a3-f211-11f0-9ca3-b42e991fc52e advisory.


 Memory safety bugs present in Firefox 146 and Thunderbird 146. Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these could have been exploited to run arbitrary code.

 Denial-of-service in the DOM: Service Workers component.
 Information disclosure in the XML component.
 Sandbox escape in the Messaging System component.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the FreeBSD security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
