Synopsis

The remote FreeBSD host is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FreeBSD installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the 245bd19f-d035-11f0-84e9-c7a56e37e3f0 advisory.

 The Go project reports:
 Within HostnameError.Error(), when constructing an error string, there is no limit to the number of hosts that will be printed out.
 Furthermore, the error string is constructed by repeated string concatenation, leading to quadratic runtime.
 Therefore, a certificate provided by a malicious actor can result in excessive resource consumption.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the FreeBSD security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
