medium Nessus Plugin ID 270406

Synopsis

Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of Fortigate installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-24-372 advisory.

- An Improperly Implemented Security Check for Standard vulnerability [CWE-358] in FortiProxy 7.6.0 through 7.6.3, 7.4 all versions, 7.2 all versions, 7.0.1 through 7.0.21, and FortiOS 7.6.0 through 7.6.3 explicit web proxy may allow an authenticated proxy user to bypass the domain fronting protection feature via crafted HTTP requests. (CVE-2025-25255)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

For 7.6.x, upgrade to Fortigate version 7.6.4 or later.
