NewStart CGSL MAIN 6.06 : python-httplib2 Vulnerability (NS-SA-2025-0206)

high Nessus Plugin ID 266276

Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.06, has python-httplib2 packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- httplib2 0.7.2, 0.8, and earlier, after an initial connection is made, does not verify that the server hostname matches a domain name in the subject's Common Name (CN) or subjectAltName field of the X.509 certificate, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary valid certificate. (CVE-2013-2037)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL python-httplib2 packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
