NewStart CGSL MAIN 6.06 : kernel Vulnerability (NS-SA-2025-0232)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 266256

Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.06, has kernel packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- In the Linux kernel before 6.0.3, drivers/gpu/drm/virtio/virtgpu_object.c misinterprets the drm_gem_shmem_get_sg_table return value (expects it to be NULL in the error case, whereas it is actually an error pointer). (CVE-2023-22998)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL kernel packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
