Synopsis

The SimpleHelp is affected by a remote code execution vulnerability.

Description

The version of SimpleHelp running on the remote web server is prior to 5.5.12. It is, therefore, affected by a remote code execution vulnerability due to the inclusion of functionality from an untrusted control sphere. An attacker can use this to bypass authentication and execute arbitrary commands.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to SimpleHelp version 5.5.12 or later to address this issue
