NewStart CGSL MAIN 7.02 : libsoup Vulnerability (NS-SA-2025-0122)

high Nessus Plugin ID 242772

Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 7.02, has libsoup packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- GNOME libsoup before 3.6.1 allows a buffer overflow in applications that perform conversion to UTF-8 in soup_header_parse_param_list_strict. There is a plausible way to reach this remotely via soup_message_headers_get_content_type (e.g., an application may want to retrieve the content type of a request or response). (CVE-2024-52531)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL libsoup packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
