Synopsis

Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of Fortigate installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-24-544 advisory.

- An Improper Certificate Validation vulnerability [CWE-295] in FortiOS version 7.6.1 and below, version 7.4.7 and below may allow an EAP verified remote user to connect from FortiClient via revoked certificate.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

For 7.4.x, upgrade to Fortigate version 7.4.8 or later. For 7.6.x, upgrade to Fortigate version 7.6.2 or later.
