Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 7.02, has python-configobj packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- All versions of the package configobj are vulnerable to Regular Expression Denial of Service (ReDoS) via the validate function, using (.+?)\((.*)\). **Note:** This is only exploitable in the case of a developer, putting the offending value in a server side configuration file. (CVE-2023-26112)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL python-configobj packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
