Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to libvpx.

Description

The version of libvpx installed on the remote host is prior to 1.12.0 / 1.15.2. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2025-159-01 advisory.

New libvpx packages are available for Slackware 15.0 and -current to fix security issues.

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the libvpx security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected libvpx package.
