Synopsis

Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of Fortigate installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-24-388 advisory.

 - An integer overflow or wraparound vulnerability [CWE-190] in FortiOS Security Fabric may allow a remote unauthenticated attacker to crash the csfd daemon via a specially crafted request. (CVE-2025-47294)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

For 6.4.x, see vendor advisory. For 7.0.x, upgrade to Fortigate version 7.0.15 or later. For 7.2.x, upgrade to Fortigate version 7.2.8 or later.
