Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLED_SAP15 / SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 / openSUSE 15 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2024:0970-1 advisory.

- Infinite Loop in zziplib v0.13.69 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via the return value zzip_file_read in the function unzzip_cat_file. (CVE-2020-18442)

- An issue was discovered in function zzip_disk_entry_to_file_header in mmapped.c in zziplib 0.13.69, which will lead to a denial-of-service. (CVE-2020-18770)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libzzip-0-13, libzzip-0-13-32bit, zziplib-devel and / or zziplib-devel-32bit packages.
