Fortinet Firewall is missing one or more security-related updates.

Description

The version of FortiWeb installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the FG-IR-23-256 advisory.

 - An improper output neutralization for logs in Fortinet FortiWeb 6.2.0 - 6.2.8, 6.3.0 - 6.3.23, 7.0.0 - 7.0.9, 7.2.0 - 7.2.5 and 7.4.0 may allow an attacker to forge traffic logs via a crafted URL of the web application. (CVE-2023-46713)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to FortiWeb version 7.2.6 / 7.4.1 or later.
