Fortinet Firewall is affected by a privilege escalation.

Description

The version of FortiOS installed on the remote host is prior to tested version. It is, therefore, affected by an improper privilege management vulnerability [CWE-269] in a FortiOS & FortiProxy HA cluster may allow an authenticated attacker to perform elevated actions via crafted HTTP or HTTPS requests.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Fortigate version 7.2.6 / 7.4.2 or later.
