Zyxel USG / ATP / VPN < 5.37 Multiple Vulnerabilities

medium Nessus Plugin ID 186480

Synopsis

The remote security gateway is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

Firmware version of the Zyxel USG, ATP, or VPN is less than 5.37. This means the Zyxel device is vulnerable to the following:

- An integer overflow vulnerability in the source code of the QuickSec IPSec toolkit could allow an unauthenticated attacker to cause denial-of-service (DoS) conditions on an affected device by sending a crafted IKE packet. (CVE-2023-4398)

- An improper input validation vulnerability in the “Quagga” package could allow an authenticated local attacker to access configuration files on an affected device. (CVE-2023-35136)

- An improper privilege management vulnerability in the debug CLI command could allow an authenticated local attacker to access system files on an affected device. (CVE-2023-37925)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to Zyxel USG / ATP / VPN to 5.37 or later.
