RHEL 9 : Red Hat Single Sign-On 7.6.6 security update on RHEL 9 (Important) (RHSA-2023:7484)

medium Nessus Plugin ID 186246

Synopsis

The remote Red Hat host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote Redhat Enterprise Linux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the RHSA-2023:7484 advisory.

- A flaw was found in Keycloak. This flaw allows impersonation and lockout due to the email trust not being handled correctly in Keycloak. An attacker can shadow other users with the same email and lockout or impersonate them. (CVE-2023-0105)

- Bouncy Castle For Java before 1.74 is affected by an LDAP injection vulnerability. The vulnerability only affects applications that use an LDAP CertStore from Bouncy Castle to validate X.509 certificates. During the certificate validation process, Bouncy Castle inserts the certificate's Subject Name into an LDAP search filter without any escaping, which leads to an LDAP injection vulnerability. (CVE-2023-33201)

- The HTTP/2 protocol allows a denial of service (server resource consumption) because request cancellation can reset many streams quickly, as exploited in the wild in August through October 2023. (CVE-2023-44487)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected rh-sso7-keycloak and / or rh-sso7-keycloak-server packages.
