Synopsis

The remote Slackware Linux host is missing a security update to vim.

Description

The version of vim installed on the remote host is prior to 9.0.2063. It is, therefore, affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SSA:2023-297-02 advisory.

- Use After Free in GitHub repository vim/vim prior to v9.0.2010. (CVE-2023-5535)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the affected vim package.
