The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED12 / SLED_SAP12 / SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2023:3940-1 advisory.

- Heap buffer overflow in vp8 encoding in libvpx in Google Chrome prior to 117.0.5938.132 and libvpx 1.13.1 allowed a remote attacker to potentially exploit heap corruption via a crafted HTML page. (Chromium security severity: High) (CVE-2023-5217)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libvpx-devel, libvpx1, libvpx1-32bit and / or vpx-tools packages.
