Fortinet FortiManager Incorrect User Management (FG-IR-22-371)

high Nessus Plugin ID 170671

Synopsis

The remote host is affected by a buffer overflow vulnerability.

Description

The remote host is running a version of FortiManager that is 6.2.x through 6.2.8, 6.4.x through 6.4.7, 7.0.x through 7.0.1. It is, therefore, affected by incorrect user management vulnerability. An incorrect user management vulnerability in the FortiManager VDOM creation component may allow an attacker to access a FortiGate without a password via newly created VDOMs after the super_admin profiled admin account is deleted.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update FortiManager to version 6.2.9, 6.4.8, 7.0.2, or later.
