Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch.

Description

According to its self-reported version, Cisco TelePresence Collaboration Endpoint Software is affected by an arbitrary file write vulnerability. Due to improper access controls on files in the that are in the local system, a local attacker can place a symbolic link in a specific location in the local file system to overwrite arbitrary files on the affected device.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCwc47201
