Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.02, has expat packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- In Expat (aka libexpat) before 2.4.5, an attacker can trigger stack exhaustion in build_model via a large nesting depth in the DTD element. (CVE-2022-25313)

- In Expat (aka libexpat) before 2.4.5, there is an integer overflow in copyString. (CVE-2022-25314)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL expat packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
