medium Nessus Plugin ID 168368

Synopsis

The remote device is affected by a denial of service vulnerability.

Description

According to its self-reported version, Cisco IOS-XE Software is affected by a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability that exists in its implementation of the Public Key Infrastructure (RPKI) feature due to the incorrect handling of a specific RPKI to Router (RTR) Protocol packet header. An unauthenticated remote attacker can exploit this issue via network to cause the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) process to crash and restart constantly, potentially making BGP routing unstable.
