Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:4288-1 advisory.

- Open Chinese Convert (OpenCC) 1.0.5 allows attackers to cause a denial of service (segmentation fault) because BinaryDict::NewFromFile in BinaryDict.cpp may have out-of-bounds keyOffset and valueOffset values via a crafted .ocd file. (CVE-2018-16982)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libopencc2, opencc, opencc-data and / or opencc-devel packages.
