Synopsis

The remote AlmaLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote AlmaLinux 9 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALSA-2022:8415 advisory.

 - GCC v12.0 was discovered to contain an uncontrolled recursion via the component libiberty/rust-demangle.c.
 This vulnerability allows attackers to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by consuming excessive CPU and memory resources. (CVE-2021-46195)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected packages.
