Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.02, has tigervnc packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- In rfb/CSecurityTLS.cxx and rfb/CSecurityTLS.java in TigerVNC before 1.11.0, viewers mishandle TLS certificate exceptions. They store the certificates as authorities, meaning that the owner of a certificate could impersonate any server after a client had added an exception. (CVE-2020-26117)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL tigervnc packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
