Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED12 / SLED_SAP12 / SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:3385-1 advisory.

- A stack-based buffer over-read in the PdfEncryptMD5Base::ComputeEncryptionKey() function in PdfEncrypt.cpp in PoDoFo 0.9.6-rc1 could be leveraged by remote attackers to cause a denial-of-service via a crafted pdf file. (CVE-2018-12983)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libpodofo-devel and / or libpodofo0_9_2 packages.
