Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:3207-1 advisory.

 - CVE-2017-0386: Fixed an issue that could enable a local malicious application to execute arbitrary code within the context of a different process. This only affects setups were libnl is passed untrusted arguments. (bsc#1020123)

Tenable has extracted the preceding description block directly from the SUSE security advisory.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libnl-1_1-devel, libnl1 and / or libnl1-32bit packages.
