Synopsis

The remote AlmaLinux host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote AlmaLinux 8 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the ALSA-2022:1842 advisory.

- A stack exhaustion issue in the printIFDStructure function of Exiv2 0.27 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (DOS) via a crafted file. (CVE-2020-18898)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected exiv2 and / or exiv2-libs packages.
