Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by a vulnerability.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version MAIN 6.02, has wpa_supplicant packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- In p2p_copy_client_info of p2p.c, there is a possible out of bounds write due to a missing bounds check.
This could lead to remote code execution if the target device is performing a Wi-Fi Direct search, with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Product:

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL wpa_supplicant packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
