The remote SUSE host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED15 / SLED_SAP15 / SLES15 / SLES_SAP15 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:1516-1 advisory.

- The wmf_malloc function in api.c in libwmf 0.2.8.4 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted wmf file, which triggers a memory allocation failure. (CVE-2016-9011)

- The GD Graphics Library (aka LibGD) 2.2.5 has a double free in the gdImage*Ptr() functions in gd_gif_out.c, gd_jpeg.c, and gd_wbmp.c. NOTE: PHP is unaffected. (CVE-2019-6978)

Note that Nessus has not tested for these issues but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libwmf-0_2-7, libwmf-devel and / or libwmf-gnome packages.
