The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2022:0842-1 advisory.

- xmlparse.c in Expat (aka libexpat) before 2.4.5 allows attackers to insert namespace-separator characters into namespace URIs. (CVE-2022-25236)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected expat, libexpat-devel, libexpat1 and / or libexpat1-32bit packages.
