Synopsis

The remote SUSE host is missing a security update.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLED12 / SLES12 / SLES_SAP12 host has packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2021:4168-1 advisory.

 - In vp8_decode_frame of decodeframe.c, there is a possible out of bounds read due to improper input validation. This could lead to remote information disclosure if error correction were turned on, with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation.Product:

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected libvpx-devel, libvpx1, libvpx1-32bit and / or vpx-tools packages.
