Synopsis

The remote NewStart CGSL host is affected by multiple vulnerabilities.

Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.05 / MAIN 5.05, has curl packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities:

- Heap buffer overflow in the TFTP protocol handler in cURL 7.19.4 to 7.65.3. (CVE-2019-5482)

- curl 7.20.0 through 7.70.0 is vulnerable to improper restriction of names for files and other resources that can lead too overwriting a local file when the -J flag is used. (CVE-2020-8177)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL curl packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
