The remote SUSE host is missing one or more security updates.

Description

The remote SUSE Linux SLES11 host has packages installed that are affected by multiple vulnerabilities as referenced in the SUSE-SU-2019:14122-1 advisory.

- Use-after-free vulnerability in bzip2recover in bzip2 1.0.6 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) via a crafted bzip2 file, related to block ends set to before the start of the block.
(CVE-2016-3189)

- BZ2_decompress in decompress.c in bzip2 through 1.0.6 has an out-of-bounds write when there are many selectors. (CVE-2019-12900)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Update the affected bzip2, bzip2-doc, libbz2-1 and / or libbz2-1-32bit packages.
