Synopsis

The remote Debian host is missing a security-related update.

Description

It was discovered that the PEAR Archive_Tar package for handling tar files in PHP is prone to a directory traversal flaw due to inadequate checking of symbolic links.

Solution

Upgrade the php-pear packages.

For the stable distribution (buster), this problem has been fixed in version 1:1.10.6+submodules+notgz-1.1+deb10u2.
