high Nessus Plugin ID 148306
New! Plugin Severity Now Using CVSS v3

The calculated severity for Plugins has been updated to use CVSS v3 by default. Plugins that do not have a CVSS v3 score will fall back to CVSS v2 for calculating severity. Severity display preferences can be toggled in the settings dropdown.

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

A denial of service (DoS) vulnerability exists in Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance due to improper error handling on established SSL/TLS connections. An unauthenticated, remote attacker can exploit this issue, by establishing an SSL/TLS connection with the affected device and then sending a malicious SSL/TLS message within that connection, to cause the device to reload.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCvt64822
