Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

The version of Cisco SD-WAN vManage Software installed on the remote host is affected by a vulnerability as referenced in the cisco-sa-clibypvman-sKcLf2L advisory.

- A vulnerability in the CLI of Cisco SD-WAN vManage Software could allow an authenticated, local attacker to inject arbitrary commands that are executed with root privileges. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input validation. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by authenticating to the device and submitting crafted input to the CLI. The attacker must be authenticated to access the CLI. A successful exploit could allow the attacker to execute commands with root privileges. (CVE-2020-3388)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCvs11282
