medium Nessus Plugin ID 147147

Synopsis

The remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch

Description

An information disclosure vulnerability exists in the web-based management interface of Cisco AsyncOS Software for Cisco Content Security Management Appliance (SMA) due to confidential information being included in HTTP requests that are exchanged between the user and the device. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by looking at the raw HTTP requests that are sent to the interface, to disclose some of the passwords that are configured throughout the interface.

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue or the host configuration but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade to the relevant fixed version referenced in Cisco bug ID CSCvw39308
