Description

The remote NewStart CGSL host, running version CORE 5.04 / MAIN 5.04, has bash packages installed that are affected by a vulnerability:

- rbash in Bash before 4.4-beta2 did not prevent the shell user from modifying BASH_CMDS, thus allowing the user to execute any command with the permissions of the shell. (CVE-2019-9924)

Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.

Solution

Upgrade the vulnerable CGSL bash packages. Note that updated packages may not be available yet. Please contact ZTE for more information.
