New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.

SynopsisThe remote web application server is affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability
DescriptionThe IBM WebSphere Application Server running on the remote host is version 8.5.0.x prior to 22.214.171.124 or 9.0.x prior to 126.96.36.199. It is, therefore, affected by a cross-site scripting vulnerability in the WebSphere Application Server Admin Console due to improper validation of user-supplied input before returning it to users. An authenticated, remote attacker can exploit this, by convincing a user to click a specially crafted URL, to execute arbitrary script code in a user's browser session.
Note that Nessus has not tested for this issue but has instead relied only on the application's self-reported version number.
SolutionUpgrade to IBM WebSphere Application Server 188.8.131.52, 184.108.40.206, or later. Alternatively, upgrade to the minimal fix pack levels required by the interim fix and then apply Interim Fix PH12533.
