New! Vulnerability Priority Rating (VPR)
Tenable calculates a dynamic VPR for every vulnerability. VPR combines vulnerability information with threat intelligence and machine learning algorithms to predict which vulnerabilities are most likely to be exploited in attacks. Read more about what VPR is and how it's different from CVSS.
VPR Score: 4.4
SynopsisThe remote device is missing a vendor-supplied security patch
DescriptionAccording to its self-reported version, IOS XE Software is affected by a DoS vulnerabilty in the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) trap generation for wireless clients due to the lack of input validation of the information used to generate an SNMP trap in relation to a wireless client connection. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending an 802.1x packet with crafted parameters during the wireless authentication setup phase of a connection and could cause the device to unexpectedly reload, causing a DoS condition.
